Mobile 'Phone Tidy

We were approached by a company to design a mobile telephone docking station that had to have a few specific and unique features, these being:-

The product is designed as two pieces that click together either way round to allow for LH/RH mounting. The 'arms' cuddle your mobile, flexing to take up the fatter ones. The cut-out underneath allows the charging cable to be accessible. The charger is inserted through the relevant cut-outs into the power socket, the miles and miles of cable are wound neatly round the back of the holder finishing off with a clip feature to prevent un-coiling. Our client advised us that the product will be offered in a variety of colours, even metallic and that special colours would be available by request depending upon quantity.

With a few minor 'tweaks' the product was turned from concept, into a 3D model and then into reality via rapid prototyping techniques and finally tooling.
